(Persia Digest) – The Mashhad Prosecutor has announced that a verdict has been issued for the US Navy veteran arrested in Mashhad. He is facing a string of charges including security charges.
Gholam-Ali Sadeghi commented on the latest developments in the case by saying: “A verdict has been issued, but I have no details.”
According to him, the case had both public and private plaintiffs.
Persia Digest (PD) reports that the Prosecutor of Mashhad made the remarks on the arrest of Michael White in Iran which, according to comments by Iran’s Foreign Ministry’s Parliamentary Deputy Hossein Panahi-Azar a fortnight ago, was not related to espionage and security.
Panahi-Azar had rejected that White was military personnel, by saying: “This is a private prosecution case.”
The New York Times reported three months ago that Michael R White was arrested at Mashhad Airport last summer as he was leaving Iran.
