(Persia Digest) – The Met Office has predicted more torrential rains entering Iran from the west on Saturday.

Persia Digest (PD) reports that rains have caused flash floods in Iran over the past three weeks and rescue operations are still continuing. A new wave of unsettled weather will begin in Iran as from Friday afternoon.

Currently, relief work by authorities continues in flooded provinces and damages are being assessed.

The southern railway lines and many roads in affected provinces are still closed.

More rain is forecast for western and southern Iran from Friday afternoon, spreading to the southeast, east, and central parts of the country.

Torrential rains will continue across the country as from Saturday, except in Sistan & Baluchestan and Hormozgan provinces. Things will settle down again towards the end of the day.
