(Persia Digest) – The Deputy Director General for Latin American Countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohsen Baharvand, will be leaving for Caracas at the head of a delegation to continue political discussions on the situation in Venezuela.

The trip will also explore ways to strengthen and expand political and economic ties between Iran and Venezuela.

According to Persia Digest (PD), Baharvand had also traveled to Moscow on 5 March 2018 to conduct discussions on Venezuela with Russia. At that time, it was said that Iran intends to bring together countries that oppose unilateralism and acts contrary to the UN Charter carried out against the Venezuelan government by the US.

Together with Russia and China, Iran supports the current Venezuelan President, Maduro.
