(Persia Digest) - A world tour by camel project has been launched in southern Iran, said the director general of Hormuzgan Province tourism department.

Reza Boroumand added: “The project started at 9 a.m., Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Khur Azini lagoon of Sirik port city and aimed at introducing the cultural heritage and tourist attractions of Hormuzgan Province.”

“The tour will take 2.5 years during which Mohammad Amiri Roudan, a local athlete and teacher will ride his camel through various provinces before crossing into Azerbaijan Republic via the Iranian border city of Astara. Then, he will pass through 47 countries on the back of his camel in Asia, Africa, Europe, Oceania and America continents before returning home via Turkmenistan's border with Iran,” he said.

The local teacher has already had a 20 year experience of touring various parts of the world.
