(Persia Digest) – Iran’s men’s team has ended the first round of the 2019 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series in third place.

The sporting event in Rome, Italy, opened last Friday with the participation of 256 taekwondo practitioners from 60 countries and wrapped up on Sunday evening (9 June 2019). Iran stood in third place with one gold medal by Mir-Hashem Hosseini and one bronze medal by Sajjad Mardani. Russia with two gold and one bronze medal and South Korea with one gold, one silver and one bronze medal came first and second respectively.

In all, Iran’s men’s and women’s teams ranked third at the competitions after South Korea and Russia.
