(Persia Digest) – The feature “No Date, No Signature” directed by Vahid Jalilvand has won the FIPRESCI Special Jury Award at the 19th Bratislava IFF. The Best Actor Award was also given to Navid Mohammadzadeh lead actor.
As reported by ISNA, the award ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Lumiere Cinema Theater in the Slovak capital. The award was received by the representative of the Iranian Embassy in Austria (accredited in Slovakia), Hamidreza Madad.
Director Vahid Jalilvand sent a video message thanking the festival and its panel, and said: “It’s a great honor to receive this award, because the filmmaker knows that it has been scrutinized by the critiques and all the details have been seen.”
He went on to say: “Please forgive me if I don’t seem very happy right now. Only a few hours ago, we received news of a deadly earthquake in the western part of our country where many of our compatriots have lost their lives. I wish patience for the families of the victims and a good evening for you.”
The 19th Bratislava IFF opened on 19 November and will close on 16 November 2017.
