(Persia Digest) – Iran’s Minister of Intelligence has said the US was convinced sanctions would bring Iran to its knees, adding: “The IR of Iran will never negotiate with global oppression under pressure.”

Speaking at a commemoration ceremony on Wednesday night, Seyed Mahmoud Alavi said: “The US President has now understood that despite his belief sanctions will not help his country and our people are more united than ever.”

Commenting that if the US President intends to lift sanctions on Iran, we will consider it, he added: “If the Supreme Leader allows, negotiations with the US will take place.”

Pointing to the US transgression of Iranian airspace, Alavi said: “The spy drone was immediately downed in Islamic Iran. The transgressor who intended to strike three locations in Iran relinquished to its fear of the Islamic Republic.”
