(Persia Digest) – The head of the Passive Defense Organization of Iran (PDOI) has said: “After downing the Global Hawk drone, the US contacted us through diplomatic channels saying it wants to carry out limited airtrikes on unimportant sites in Iran to save face, but Iran turned down the request.”

Persia Digest (PD) reports that the US spying drone, Global Hawk, was hit by the IRGC Air Force on Iran’s southern coastline in the early morning of 20 June 2019.

In reaction, President Donald Trump claimed that he had issued orders for three airstrikes on Iran, but called it off with ten minutes to go when he was informed by his generals that 150 people would be killed.”

According to a Daily Mail report yesterday, the UK ambassador to the US, Kim Darroch, sent confidential reports to Downing Street saying calling off the Iran airstrike because 150 people would have died ‘doesn’t stand up’.

Nevertheless, the head of PDOI, Commander Gholam-Reza Jalali, said today: “After downing the transgressing drone, the enemy used diplomatic channels to announce it wants to carry out limited strikes in unimportant areas and asked us not to respond. But the Islamic Republic answered that any strikes would be considered an act of war and retaliated. We would design the battleground and if you start the war we will announce the end.”
