(Persia Digest) - Students of Iran’s Sharif University of Technology have designed an indigenous operating system for mobile phones and used it on a domestic made cell phone, Iran’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi, has announced it in a video on a recent Instagram post.
The posted video said: “In order to confront sanctions imposed by Google, a group of students from Sharif University of Technology have designed an operating system which cannot be removed by Google. For further confidence of the users, a mobile phone was also produced by GLX to support the domestic operating system. The Iranian operating system enables its users to activate necessary Apps for their businesses without being concerned about US sanctions.”
According to Persia Digest (PD): “During the past couple of months and following US withdrawal from multilateral nuclear deal with Iran and consequently, resumption of sanctions against the country, the Google and App Store have deleted some of the Iranian business Apps under the pretext of observing sanctions act.”
Reacting to their move on that time, Jahromi had said: “US economic terrorism is spreading on cyber space.”
