(Persia Digest) – The Head of the World Health Regional Summit 2019 has said: “Sanctions have had a negative impact on the health of Iranians.”

Ali Jafarian added: “Information was presented at the regional meeting of the World Health Assembly showing that economic sanctions against Iran imposed by particular countries (and not the UN) have negatively impacted the country’s economy, welfare, healthcare, and access to vital medication.”

According to Jafarian, the said information led the M8 Alliance BoD to issue a resolution in this regard.

The M8 Alliance is an international independent body with 25 members from leading universities and academic institutions at the World Health Summit. Their Head Office is in Berlin.

He continued: “The resolution has eight articles, the last of which is about the sanctions on Iran, saying we emphasize on promoting justice and peace for all nations in line with the sustainable development principles of the UN. These principles must guide all nations in countering conflicts.  All attempts must be made for talks based on mutual respect and peace to avoid aggressive measures and sanctions.”
