(Persia Digest) – US President Donald Trump, has posted a tweet drawing a unique comparison between Iran’s power in war and negotiations.

Persia Digest (PD) reports that on Monday night Trump tweeted: “Just remember, the Iranians never won a war, but never lost a negotiation!”

The tweet comes as tensions between the US and Iran and the UK and Iran are on the rise in the Persian Gulf.

The US President left the 2015 JCPOA nuclear deal in May 2018 and reinstated sanctions on Iran. He has been exerting his maximum pressure policy on Iran for making what he calls a better deal.

Nevertheless, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson reiterated yesterday that the US has rejected Iran’s proposal for an early ratification of the JCPOA additional protocol in exchange for the lifting all sanctions against Iran and made it clear that it was not serious about negotiations.

Presently, it is not clear what Trump’s latest tweet is based on. Yet, all those with a minimum of knowledge on Iran’s 2500-year old history are fully aware of the fate of wars in this region.

Trump’s tweet may well be another disguised threat and a change of heart to choose war over negotiations, because in his view this will make the US task easier.

Be that as it may, many experts deem the probability of a war being waged by the US President who has just started his election campaign as rather low.
