(Persia Digest) – While Turkey protested the loudest when US imposed its unilateral sanctions on Iran and its authorities announced these to be unlawful, news is emerging that some of this country’s airports are sabotaging the refueling of Iranian passenger planes.

The director of Iran Air has said: “Our planes are refueled in some Turkish airports and refused fuel in others. We are conducting talks on the issue.”

Persia Digest (PD) reports that Turkey is one of Iran’s main partners in the region and large numbers of tourists travel to Turkey from Iran every year; although their numbers have dropped significantly following unprecedented spikes in the price of foreign currency.

Touraj Dehghan-Zangeneh said that the privatization of Iran Air has come to a stop, adding: “We have plans to buy planes, but are unable to announce the details.”
