(Persia Digest) – The 9th International Daf Festival – The Sound of Mercy was held under the summer rain in Esteghlal Park in Sanandaj, western Iran.
Daf players from across Iran took part at the festival – from 80-year old Seyed Tayeb who also played the reed flute to 3-year old Vihan Fashiri who could barely hold up a daf bigger than himself.
The performers were wearing their folk costumes from across Iran at the special gathering, including the Doup Group from Khuzestan, Bidad from North Khorasan, Souzidel from Sanandaj, and Delaram from Sistan and Baluchistan.
The 9th International Daf Festival – The Sound of Mercy was inaugurated in Sanandaj with musicians from 30 provinces and will run until Friday.
