(Persia Digest) – The Iranian Deputy Minister of Science has announced the approval of the regulation to establish joint universities, colleges and research institutes with the world's top universities inside Iran by the government.

Currently, some branches of Payam-e Noor and Azad universities have been established jointly outside Iran and some are in operation, said Hossein Salar Amoli about establishing branches of Iranian universities abroad as joint programs.

About 18 independent branches have also been established abroad, he continued.

The regulation to establish joint universities, colleges and research institutes with the world's top universities inside Iran has been approved by the government, added the Deputy Minister of Science.

Based on this regulation, we will establish joint branches with top universities in the world in Iran by joint investment.

According to him, the first meeting to specify the implementation and planning of the issue will be held within a month.
