(Persia Digest) – Pateh duzi or selseleh duzi is one of the popular traditional arts of the people of Kerman Province and is a type of old needlework on woolen fabrics called shawl.
Pateh, which is derived from "pat" meaning goat's wool and fur, is prepared for pateh duzi after being combed and woven into fabric.
Kermani women and girls, using fine colorful needlework, weave ancient Iranian patterns and designs such as boteh-jegheh [paisley] or the tree of life on a thick cloth which is called areez [wide] and use it on decorative fabrics or clothes.
