(Persia Digest) – The 30th New Orleans Film Festival will be screening two long documentaries and two short films from Iran.
“Exodus” by Bahman Kiarostami, son of the late filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami, will be shown along with the documentary “Gracefully” written and directed by Arash Es’haghi in the competition section.
“Exodus” is about the repatriation of Afghan immigrants by the foreign nationals’ department of the Ministry of Interior. The Afghan immigrants’ center is responsible for registering and repatriating illegal Afghan immigrants who live in Iran.
The documentary “Gracefully” has already been screen at the Utah Film Festival and received the Best Picture Award from the 10th independent Iranian film festival.
The New Orleans Film Festival will also screen the Iranian films “Wound” by Maryam Tafakori (short experimental) and “Gray body” by Samaneh Shojaei (short animation).
The 30th New Orleans Film Festival will be held in the US from 16-23 October 2019.
