(Persia Digest) – Iran is planning to hold a familiarization exercise for Hong Kong and South China citizens to promote its tourist attractions.
Persia Digest (PD) reports that China is one of Iran’s main tourism targets with visa waivers provided by Iran for tourists visiting from China, Hong Kong, and Macao. The familiarization exercise will be held for fifteen tour operators from Hong Kong and South China.
The group of fifteen will come to Iran on 3 September and visit tourist attractions in Kashan, Isfahan, Shiraz, Yazd, Kerman, and Tehran before leaving on 10 September.
According to the Acting Minister of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, Ali-Asghar Munesan, Iran has a 5-year plan to attract one percent of Chinese tourists in the world, targeting seven Chinese provinces for this purpose.
Over 52 thousand Chinese tourists visited Iran in 2018. An estimated 11 thousand Chinese tourists have also visited Iran in the 3-month period of March to April 2019 inclusive.
