(Persia Digest) - Sabalan peak in Ardabil Province, northwestern Iran, is the country’s third tallest peak at an altitude of 4811 meters above sea level, attracting many tourists. It has a ski resort, hot springs and mountain climbing.
The Sabalan Mountain used to be a volcano in the past, but it has been inactive for years. The mountain has cool air and lush foothills, so that many people visit it on hot days.
An amazing feature of Sabalan is its spectacular lake which is located at the mouth of the mountain volcano.
