(Persia Digest) –
The Spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to the US offer of cash to the captain of Adrian Darya 1, calling it a desperate attempt.
Persia Digest (PD) reports that on Wednesday, a spokesperson for the US State Department confirmed that Washington has offered millions of dollars in cash to the captain of Adrian Darya to take the supertanker to a country where it could be seized on behalf of the US.
In response, the Spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Seyed Abbas Mousavi, said: “Intensified hostile remarks and desperate actions and the ridiculous offer of cash and bribe money for betrayal and espionage are desperate measures to impact Iranian lives and will get nowhere as usual.”
He underlined that such acts will add to their dark record of dealing with Iranians, adding: “They will certainly be answerable for their actions one day.”
Commenting on the US offer of bribe money to the Indian captain of Adrian Darya 1 supertanker and his subsequent sanctioning, Iran’s chief diplomat tweeted on Wednesday: “Having failed at piracy, the US resorts to outright blackmail—deliver us Iran’s oil and receive several million dollars or be sanctioned yourself. Sounds very similar to the Oval Office invitation I received a few weeks back. It is becoming a pattern.”
