(Persia Digest) – Iran’s top bodybuilder, Hadi Choupan, has shined at Mr Olympia professional men's bodybuilding contest. Popular vote gave him first place while the jury ranked him third.
Hadi Choupan, aka "Iranian Wolf", had been unable to compete at Mr Olympia over the past few years because he was unable to receive a US visa. This is the top international bodybuilding competition held annually by the International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness (IFBB).
He was finally able to participate this year. He ranked fourth in the preliminary competitions, but went on stage in the final.
The "Iranian Wolf" was ranked in third place by the jury at Mr Olympia for the first time to gain an honor in the competition.
Hadi ranked first in the popular vote “Peoples Champ”, but the jury’s vote was definitive, placing him on platform 3 in this popular competition.
The title “Peoples Champ” started at Mr Olympia two years ago and last year’s title was won by Roelly Winklaar.
This is the first time in Iranian bodybuilding history that a competitor ranks among the first top four. The only previous competitor at Mr Olympia from Iran was Beitollah Abbaspour who ranked 17th.
