(Persia Digest) – The Shiraz Valley near Kouhdasht in the foothills of the Zagross Chain of Mountains has become a dreamy destination for tourists.
Shiraz is an ancient, pristine valley which was inscribed as a national heritage of Iran in 2014 by the council for the registration of natural landscapes.
Shiraz coordinates are N334928 latitude and E472950 longitude in Lorestan Province, at the intersection of the three Kermanshah, Ilam, and Lorestan provinces. The discovery of rich archaeological sites dating back to the Stone Age has made it possible for the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Ministry to pay special attention to this region in its master plan for tourism.
The valley has become known as Iran’s Grand Canyon. Trees planted in its extension have displayed a combination of soft and hard nature for long years. The Grand Canyon is in Arizona, USA, crossed by the Colorado River.
