(Persia Digest) – The Iranian cinema screened 18 films this summer with a total sales figure of tomans 64BN (just over USD 5.5MM), showing a drop as compared to previous years.
Figures for box office sales in the summers of 2018 and 2017 are tomans 62.5BN (over USD 5MM and 400 thousand) and tomans 45BN (USD 4MM) respectively; however, taking into account price rises this year, sales figures for 2019 show a drop in the number of cinema-goers this summer.
Overall, Iranian cinema-goers numbered 5 million and 650 thousand this summer, while this figure was 7 million in the summer of 2018.
