(Persia Digest) – Four lightweight helicopters were delivered to the IRGC in the presence of Iran’s Deputy Minister of Defense at Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA) in Isfahan.
These were three Shahed 278 and one 285 helicopters made by the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL) of Iran and Iranian engineers from 0 to 100.
Agility in carrying out missions such as patrol and reconnaissance, training pilots, air taxis, air escort, air rescue, and investigation of oil, gas, electricity, and telecommunication pipelines are some of the abilities cited for the helicopters.
Currency savings for each helicopter is reported to be USD 1.5 million.
Deputy Minister of Defense, Commander Ghasem Taghizadeh, said: “By launching the production line for these helicopters with a capacity of 6 aircrafts per year, HESA will be providing 1500 jobs for domestic aviation specialists directly and indirectly.”
HESA was established in 1976 in Shahin Shar, Isfahan Province.
The company is equipped with production lines for passenger airlines, drones, hovercraft repairs, manufacture of fixed-wing (military) aircraft, a design center, and a repairs workshop for all types of aircraft.
