(Persia Digest) – The young Iranian artist who weaved the 2018 Russia World Cup tableau rug is now planning to weave a special tableau rug for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Persia Digest (PD) reports that the design for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics tableau rug was unveiled today in the presence of Iran’s Olympics Museum officials by Fereydoun Naghilou, the young Iranian artist who will start his weaving work soon.
The rug is due to be completed before the Iranian sports caravan is dispatched to the Tokyo Olympic Games and will be handed over to the National Olympic Committee officials.
Carpet artist Naghilou, from Khoy city in northwestern Iran, has woven the tableaux rugs for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the 2019 AFC Cup in the UAE, and the 2019 Men's Volleyball Nations League so far. He has also gifted the tableau rug featuring the victory of the defenders of Prophet Zeinab (SA) Holy Shrine in Syria over Daesh terrorists to Ghasem Soleimani, Commander of the Quds Force.
