(Persia Digest) – The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has announced that the 8-year old Iranian boy, Soheil Ahmadpour, is the winner of the World Food Day 2017 painting contest in the 5 to 8 category, with the slogan “Change the future of migration, invest in food security and rural development”.
In July this year, FAO launched a painting, graphics, and video competition for young people worldwide to design posters or make videos for World Food Day 2017.
The competition took place in four age groups. The 5 to 8 group winner is Soheil Ahmadpour from Iran. His painting depicts an active, lively village where men and women are working on their land to grow enough food for themselves and other areas.
Participants from Belarus, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, India, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Thailand, Indonesia, and Brazil came 1st to 3rd in the four age groups.
To inspire young people from around the world, FAO is compiling a picture book led by Italian illustrator Lorenzo Terranera. In this 2017 book, solutions are provided to enable migrants to stay on their own lands.
