Mandaean New Year celebrations begin
The Mandaean New Year celebrations (followers of Yahya) have begun in Ahvaz as from Tuesday morning. The Mandaeans revere Adam. Their chief prophet is John the Baptist.
Arts Bazaar in Mashhad, Ahvaz and Tehran
The 3rd Arts Bazaar is being held simultaneously in Tehran, Mashhad, and Ahvaz this year. An estimated 3200 pieces of work created by 532 artists at a unit price of tomans 900 thousand will be on sale over these last days of the Iranian calendar.
Iran and India sign oil MoU
An MoU has been signed between Iran's Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO) and the Indian Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited ONGC VIDISH for the development of the Susangerd oilfield in the southern Khuzestan Province of Iran. IDRO CEO, Nasrollah Zare’ei, said: “A similar MoU has been signed with the Russian Zarubezhneft petrochemical company and, together with the MoU signed with India, we intend to form a consortium.”
Mahnaz Karimi breaks Middle East swimming record
Mahnaz Karimi, swimmer from Khuzestan Province, has broken the Middle East record in the “Helal” swimming pool in Ahvaz. Mahnaz Karimi swam for 25 hours nonstop without using her arms to break the record in Iran and the Middle East and add to the achievements of Iranian women athletes.
Five cities on Turkish Airlines monitors
Tabriz, Yazd, Ahvaz, Hamedan, and Kerman have joined the ad network of Turkish Airlines. From now on, these five most spectacular Iranian cities will be screened on the IFE TV screens of all Turkish Airlines flights.
