Unprecedented book price rises in Iran
Publication figures for April show price hikes of over 88 percent for books in Iran which has been unprecedented to date. At the same time, publishers have reduced their output by 18 percent.

Publishing houses from twenty countries will be attending the 32nd Tehran International Book Fair in the capital.

Iran at Seoul International Book Fair
The Seoul International Book Fair will be held at the Coex Convention Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul from 20-24 June 2018.
Agreement for translation of Iranian literature
Thirty-one final contracts were signed for the translation of Iranian books on global markets, and some initial agreements were made on 50 titles at athe Tehran Book Fair this year.
Tunisia and Serbia, guests of honour at Tehran Book Fair
The 31st Tehran Book Fair begins on 2 May, and in addition to Tunis, as a guest city of the Book Fair, a delegation from Serbia will also be coming to Tehran as honorary guests.
Paris exhibition hosts Iranian publishing houses
Iran is participating at the 38th Paris Book Fair “Livre Paris”. The Book Fair is host to fifty countries this year including Iran, from 16-19 March 2018 at Porte de Versailles. Around 700 books will be on display at the Iran stand, including fiction literature, religion, holy defense, Iranology, and children and young adults.
Digitalized Persian manuscripts unveiled
The portal for digitalized Persian manuscripts has been unveiled in Iran by the first Vice President, Eshaq Jahanguiri, Gloria Pérez-Salmerón, President of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), and Ashraf Borujerdi, President of the National Library and Archives Organization of Iran (NLAI).
Iran: Special guest of Vienna or Muscat book fairs?
Iran has been invited as the first special guest of the Muscat Book Fair next year. It has also received an invitation from the Vienna International Book Fair, also for next year.
Exquisite Christian books exhibited at Christmas
Iran’s National Library has placed its collection of exquisite documents and a Bible manuscript on display for Christmas.
Christmas is celebrated in Iran on 25 December not only by Christians, but Muslims also join them to usher in the New Christian Year. Apart from churches and certain streets in Iran, governments centers also organize Christmas events. This year, the National Library has organized an exhibition of its priceless Bible manuscript and other books on Christianity at its Book and Archives Museum from Christmas Day for two weeks.
See the oldest Persian book
“The Divan of Hafez – An explanation of his poems” is the oldest book in Persian at the Royal Library Museum of the Niavaran Cultural Complex. It will be displayed here for ten days.
This priceless book is an explanation of the sonnets of the renowned 14th century Poet, Hafez, by Mohammad Sudi, Bosnian researcher and translator. It is the oldest Persian book at the Royal Library Museum.
