Agreement for translation of Iranian literature
Thirty-one final contracts were signed for the translation of Iranian books on global markets, and some initial agreements were made on 50 titles at athe Tehran Book Fair this year.
Dowlatabadi crosses the book publication license bridge
An encouraging piece of news these days, ahead of the Tehran Int’l Book Fair, is the issuing of a long-awaited license for the publication of a novel by renowned Iranian author, Mahmoud Dowlatabadi, about the war. After ten years of waiting in the ranks, his book will now be on display at the Book Fair in the capital.
Tehran Int’l Book Fair opening soon with 25 foreign publishers
The 31st Tehran Int’l Book Fair (TIBF) will begin work on 2 May 2018. To date, it has received 31 applications for participation for which 25 visas have been issued.
Paris exhibition hosts Iranian publishing houses
Iran is participating at the 38th Paris Book Fair “Livre Paris”. The Book Fair is host to fifty countries this year including Iran, from 16-19 March 2018 at Porte de Versailles. Around 700 books will be on display at the Iran stand, including fiction literature, religion, holy defense, Iranology, and children and young adults.
18th century Iran: 1500 publications
Reporting is an old occupation in Iran. You may be interested to know that in the Qajar era, 1500 daily papers were published in Iran – a record among countries in its own time.
23rd Tehran Press Exhibition
The 23rd Tehran Press Exhibition will start work on Friday 27 October and run until 3 November 2017 in Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mossalla with over 600 news agencies and media.
Moscow to host Iranian publishers
Following Iran’s strong presence at the Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF), the country will be attending the 30th Moscow International Book Fair (MIBF) taking place 6-10 September.
