Philadelphia, 26, kills three women, steals car and barricades himself in house with hostages: arrested

A 26-year-old homeless man, Andre Gordon, opened fire and killed three people today near Philadelphia, before fleeing in a stolen car and barricading himself in a New Jersey home with several hostages. In the end, the police were able to avoid more dramatic developments by arresting the young man while he was trying to escape. The alarm was raised around 8:50 a.m. local time when Gordon shot and killed his 13-year-old sister, Kara Gordon, and stepmother, Karen Gordon, in Falls Township. Then, a few blocks away, he struck again, killing the woman with whom he had two children, 25-year-old Taylor Daniel, and also wounding her mother. Gordon then took off on foot, stopped a man in the parking lot, and stole his car. The police immediately rushed to the scene of the shooting, and for safety reasons, they canceled the St. Patrick's Day parade, closed all children's parks and called on residents in the area to stay in their homes and stay away from windows. Gordon left Pennsylvania in the stolen car and drove to Trenton, New Jersey, where he lives. Here he barricaded himself in a house with hostages. In this case too, according to what the police reported, they were people the man knew, and perhaps members of his family. Agents and special teams,
Among them were members of Swat, who immediately surrounded the house, preparing to intervene to stop the man, whom police described as “armed and extremely dangerous.” After more than an hour of fear, the hostages were “successfully evacuated” while Gordon remained holed up for hours before he was arrested while trying to escape. The reasons behind the 26-year-old's string of crazy criminal acts remain unclear. Falls Township police said they had contact with the killer in the past, but there was no indication of such action. His criminal record, according to rumours, is clean and the man would never have shown signs of mental disorder. The federal authorities will also work to untangle the questions so far without relief because the man crossed the border between two states and the law stipulates the deployment of government forces in these cases.
