Germany-Hungary: This match is playing overtime at the European Summit

By Philip Reignier (with MC and E. Lr)

D.Arenas in Germany, monuments and sites in various European cities – including Grand-Place in Brussels and the Federal Parliament of Belgium – redesigned the logos: During the match between Germany and Hungary, the colors of the LGBTQI + community went out on Wednesday night. With the same message: Opposing a Hungarian law that discriminates against sexual minorities and at the same time condemning the unpolitical nature of the UEFA, which has refused to allow the city of Munich to illuminate its stadium in the colors of the rainbow. Long before the meeting began, all of this was triggered and the widespread controversy that the jump from football to politics – sometimes back and forth – was further underlined by the absence of the Hungarian prime minister … appeared on the lawn during the Hungarian national anthem in front of an audience with a rainbow flag.
