GoPro Hero 10 Black: This is the new GP2 action camera

GoPro action camera manufacturer is about to introduce the GoPro Hero 10 Black. The new action cam finally comes with the new GP2 processor and thus provides a decent upgrade in terms of image quality. We have official photos and the first technical data.

The new GoPro Hero10 Black’s exterior has changed quite a bit compared to its predecessor. The design introduced with the Hero9 has been largely kept, but GoPro has given the new model some color accents with the company’s blue lettering design in the future. The two screens on the front and back are also preserved.

Above all, the inner workings are changing with the GoPro Hero 10 Black Actioncam. The focus is on the new GP2 processor, which has been chasing rumors for some time and with a solid performance boost also ensuring that the frame rates supported in the Hero10 are significantly increased.

It is combined with a new image sensor that offers a slight increase in resolution compared to the previous model. Instead of a maximum image resolution of 20 megapixels, 23 megapixels will be possible in the future. We don’t yet know how high the resolution of the sensor itself is, as GoPro achieves software-based image stabilization with a physically higher resolution sensor.

Thanks to HyperSmooth 4.0, the GoPro Hero 10 Black should once again be able to offer a “gimbal-like stabilization,” at least according to the manufacturer’s marketing materials. With the automatic upload function, GoPro wants to create another way to quickly and easily upload new videos to the Internet in addition to the previously popular 1080p live broadcast.

GP2 enables 5.3K videos at 60fps

As mentioned, the camera’s performance increases with the new GP2 processor. For example, the new GoPro Hero 10 Black mentioned that 5.3K videos are possible at 60 frames per second. 4K videos can be recorded at up to 120 frames per second. At 2.7K resolution, it can get 240 frames per second for creating high definition slow motion videos.

In addition, the GoPro Hero 10 Black offers housing up to 10 meters in depth, the familiar touch screen and voice control. TimeWarp 3.0 is also available. RAW, SuperPhoto, and HDR photos are still supported, as is the webcam mode. We don’t have any info yet on Hero 10 Black pricing and availability.
