(Boursier.com) – GT It was selected in April 2022 by its partner, Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries, to design cryogenic tanks for six liquefied natural gas (LNG) container ships.
These six new vessels, capable of carrying 7,900 containers each, will be equipped with a tank of liquefied natural gas, used as fuel, with a capacity of 6000 cubic metres. These tanks will integrate the Mark III Flex membrane containment system developed by GTT.

Today, LNG is considered the best marine fuel for maintaining air quality, a major public health issue. Reduces sulfur oxide emissions by 99%, particulate matter by 91% and nitrogen oxide emissions by 92%. It also reduces CO2 by up to 20% compared to conventional vessels.
The ships are scheduled for delivery between the fourth quarter of 2024 and the second quarter of 2025.
