Microsoft has been reported to have added support for the Hyperlinks feature to Excel

San Francisco: Tech giant Microsoft is said to be adding support for the hyperlinks feature to Excel. According to Windows Central, the popular spreadsheet app will soon support hyperlinks within recent comments. Microsoft Surface Pro 8 2-in-1 Laptop will be available in India from February 15, 2022.

This is a feature that’s been in demand for years, and should make it easier to share content from the web while working together on a spreadsheet, the report said.

It added that the feature appears in a recently updated entry in the Microsoft 365 roadmap. Currently, it is possible to add hyperlinks to notes, but they differ from comments, the report said.

Support for hyperlinks in recent comments may arrive as soon as February 2022, but that’s not a firm release date. Recent comments are available in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Modern Comments, designed for collaboration, support @mentions, which can then notify people via email. She added that supporting hyperlinks in recent comments in Excel should streamline people’s workflow and make it easier to share content online.
