Spie was responsible for the technical and infrastructure management of four buildings in Berlin belonging to the investment firm Union Investment. The new operating contract commenced on January 1, 2021 for an initial period of 3 years.
SPIE Deutschland & Zentraleuropa, the German subsidiary of SPIE, will be responsible for the technical and infrastructure management of Union Investment’s four Berlin buildings, which represent a total floor area of approximately 56,000 square metres.
These facilities are spread over several locations: Rosmarin Karree, Rathaus Mitte, Pergamon Palais and Neue Promenade in the Mitte district of Berlin.
The contract includes maintenance, inspection and repair of interior ventilation systems, doors, automatic water extinguishers, emergency power supply, electrical installations, air conditioning, heating and plumbing as well as instrumentation and building control technology. SPIE will also be responsible for incident management. The multi-tech service provider also takes care of the renovation and interior design of office spaces for owners and tenants. SPIE provides a full range of in-house technical services and provides support for planning and modernizing building engineering systems. The multi-tech service provider will also help the investment company put in place energy efficiency measures, with the goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
The principal tenants of these buildings are the Berlin Mitte District Administration, the DSGV Savings Bank Association, Humboldt University and Foundation.
