The New York Times is re-examining the question of Donald Trump's age and mental capacity with a long article examining the businessman's speeches over the years, based on testimony, on examination of his public appearances and on computer analysis of his rallies, the number of which has also declined (61 so far compared to 283 in 2016 ). “Over time, the 78-year-old former president’s speeches have become darker, harsher, longer, angrier, less focused, more banal and increasingly focused on the past,” the newspaper wrote, citing various episodes. Among the most recent was the one in which he recounted how the audience was on his side in the television debate with Kamala Harris, when in reality there were no spectators.
“He – as the New York Times noted – goes on, repeats himself, wanders from one idea to another, some difficult to understand, some incomplete, some actually wonderful.
He makes extravagant statements that seem completely invented. He goes into bizarre digressions about golf, sharks, and his “beautiful” body. He enjoys a “beautiful day in Louisiana” after spending the day in Georgia instead. He expresses fears that North Korea is “trying to kill me” when he likely means Iran.
