Israel bombs 290 targets in southern Lebanon in 24 hours – News

The Israeli military said its fighter jets struck some 290 targets in southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours, including rocket launchers and Hezbollah military sites, Haaretz reported.
The Israeli military said more than 100 rockets were fired from Lebanon in the early hours of this morning, adding that firefighting services were working to extinguish fires caused by the falling shells.

The military said “some 85 rockets were identified as having reached Israeli territory from Lebanon” shortly after 6 a.m. local time, while in an earlier attack that began before 5 a.m., “some 20 rockets were identified as having arrived from Lebanon.” Hezbollah says it struck military-industrial complexes in Israel in response to the explosions of pagers and walkie-talkies in recent days, which have left dozens dead and thousands wounded.
“In an initial response” to the explosions, Hezbollah “bombarded Rafael military-industrial complexes” in northern Israel with “dozens” of missiles, the Dio party said in a statement.

The US Embassy in Lebanon has raised the alert level in the country to maximum, and advised all US citizens not to travel to Lebanon for security reasons.

At night, the Israeli army stormed Al Jazeera's office in Ramallah to inform it that it was closing for 45 days. The same Qatari broadcaster witnessed the army's entry into the West Bank offices live on air.
