Eintracht Braunschweig 1. advanced to second place with a 2-1 (0-0) win over FC Magdeburg. Lower Saxony have now been promoted into their own hands for a second Bundesliga.

Due to the victory against the already established champions on Friday evening, “Lions” 1. FC knocked out Kaiser Slatter. After hosting Borussia Dortmund II on Saturday they took the lead over Palatinate who played more than BTSV, just one point. S.V. If Eintracht had the courage and focus in the remaining two games against Meppen and Victoria Colen, nothing would have prevented them from making an immediate return to the lower house of the Bundesliga, as they did against MacDeb.

“The guys on the pitch did a great job. You can see they really want to win.” Eintracht coach Michael Schiele said in an interview with NDR.

Nikolaou and Lauberbach meet for Braunschweig

After a goalless first half in which Magdeburg played over and Braunschweig missed a penalty kick by Lion Lauberbach (40), Jannis Nikolaou gave BTSV the lead shortly after. Defensive expert Maurice Muldab (49 ‘) won a header after a corner kick. The cheers at the Hamburger Strasse Stadium became even louder ten minutes later when Lauberbach took it 2-0.

The template for the goal was provided by keeper Jasmine Fajik. Amara Conte underestimated her tee shot so the intract attacker had a clear path.

Eintracht trembles for success

The result? not at all! After 120 seconds, Magdeburg was able to close the gap with Jason Seka. Soon, the ball was in the Brunswick box for the second time. This time Kai Brünker promoted him there. But referee Daniel Seibert denied the goal because Luca Schuler hit goalkeeper Fajik in the head (71 ‘) earlier. Although it was a matter of honor (and point bonus) for them, the guests were pushed hard to balance in the final.
