Showing off the PS5 highlight reel is about to get a whole lot easier. That’s because Sony just introduced the option to automatically upload game clips and screenshots to the PlayStation mobile app and then share them.
You can check the rundown of the feature at Sony video ad Below, it shows how you can access, browse and view/play photos and videos.
But there are some limitations. Clips must be less than three minutes long, otherwise they will not be uploaded. Nor can they be “Moment Trophy” clips that are recorded when you unlock an in-game achievement. Also, the automatically uploaded clips and screenshots will only be around for 14 days before they disappear, so make sure it’s a moment you’ll want to show off for months to come, you can save it to your phone manually.
Fortunately, if you want to keep your shots longer, there is a select and download function built into the app to do so easily for multiple clips and shots at once. Alternatively, you can share it through the Game Base interface of the app or via your social media apps to show it to your gaming buddies more directly.
Want to set up this? go to the Settings > Snapshots > Auto Upload. Alternatively, you can go to the Media Gallery from either the PS menu or the Games section of the main menu, and you can enable it from there.
A long-awaited clear feature
This made sense to me as a feature from the moment I got my PS5. With all the problems surrounding PS5 restocking, not everyone who wants to try out the best PS5 games has been able to do so. And of course, I’m very happy to show/show what I’ve been playing.
While you can always share things through PlayStation’s social features, that’s primarily not how I interact with gaming friends. Despite this, the social apps on my phone are the perfect way to access my clips and screens from my phone, even if they’re only loaded onto the PS app temporarily.
It’s a pity then that this feature hasn’t been offered live for me in the UK, yet. The show runs through March, so it won’t be long before I can showcase my favorite Deathloop assassinations or the weird physics moments and Easter eggs in Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
