Resident Evil 8: Expansion with a new single player story in October

Capcom has announced an expansion of the horror game Resident Evil 8. The addon is called the “Winter Expansion” and adds a third-person mode to the main game, among other things – “RE8” is usually controlled from a first-person perspective.

Winter’s Expansion also comes with a new story mode called “Shadows of Rose”, in which you play the daughter of main character Ethan Winters several years after the events of the main game. Resident Evil 8’s winter expansion is scheduled to release on October 28.

Publisher Capcom has also released graphic updates to remake previous Resident Evil games on next generation consoles. Parts 2, 3, and 7 remake upgrades now work on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S with better frame rates and ray tracing, among other things.

A remake is currently in the works: “Resident Evil 4” was originally released in 2005 and is now being revised for current systems. A spin-off multiplayer game called Resident Evil Re: Verse will also be released alongside Winter’s Expansion on October 28.

On PC, Capcom pestered “Resident Evil 8” players with anti-copy protection that degrades performance. Stuttering when killing zombies, which many users noticed in the PC version of “RE8”, did not occur in a cracked version. Capcom relied on a combination of Denuvo and its own anti-tamper program for the action game last summer, and Capcom fixed the problems with a patch after a massive outcry.
