US Open second round – Laksonen surprisingly beat Garin – Sport

• Henri Laaksonen (ATP 130) reached the third round of the US Open.
• The 29-year-old surprisingly beat Chilean Cristian Garin (ATP 19) with 3:6, 7:6 (7:5), 6:2, 6:4.
• In the third round, Laaksonen will now meet Germany’s Peter Jojowczyk (midfield 141).

Before the meeting, Garen predicted a “tough match.” In fact, it became difficult for Garin. So difficult that the favorite Chilean lost the match.

On the other hand, Henri Laaksonen celebrated his sudden coup. In the only duel to date, Garin easily won two sets in the Houston quarterfinals in 2019.
