The Elder Scrolls VI hasn’t been confirmed as an Xbox exclusive but it’s just like Phil Spencer

The Sixth Sheikh Manuscripts It is not officially confirmed as an Xbox console exclusive but is based on data from Phil Spencer, Xbox is just like.

In an interview with British GQ, Phil Spence explains that he sees the Skyrim sequel as a similar case to Bethesda’s other title, Starfield, which has been confirmed for Xbox Series X/S and PC for some time.

Part of his logic is what the Xbox ecosystem can offer exclusively, including Cloud Gaming, Xbox Live services, and more:

“It’s not about penalizing another platform, I basically think all platforms should be able to continue to grow,” said GQ’s P. Spencer. “But to be on Xbox, I want to be able to contribute everything we have to offer. And that’s absolutely true when I think of Elder Scrolls VI. It’s true when I think of any of our licenses.”

Ever since Xbox acquired Bethesda’s parent company ZeniMax Media, the location of The Elder Scrolls 6 as an exclusive has been moot. As the company’s largest license, there has been a lot of talk about whether or not the next game’s existence on other platforms will be accepted by Xbox.

Microsoft previously announced that Bethesda games would be releasing “first, best, or best” on Xbox, but Bethesda’s Todd Howard said it’s “hard to imagine” The Elder Scrolls VI as an Xbox exclusive. Now it looks like the pendulum has swung to the other side, as Phil Spencer looks more assertive about the upcoming RPG and its connection to Microsoft’s console.

Elsewhere in the article, Todd Howard reiterates that The Elder Scrolls 6 is still in the design phase, but adds that the game’s ultimate goal remains the same as the previous ones in the series:

“We re-read tests from the early Elder Scrolls. And when you read The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, then The Elder’s Scrolls V: Skyrim. You remember a thing or two. And we read it the same way.” Technology is changing. But the ultimate goal is to make sure you feel transported when starting the game.”

There are still many years to wait before we can play the game, especially now that Todd Howard has confirmed Starfield is a priority, but we can hope for a game familiar with Bethesda Game Studios not planning to move away from singleplayer.
