The world’s most important annual video game fair, E3 in Los Angeles (US), will celebrate its 2022 edition in digital form only due to concerns about the state of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This was announced by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), the show’s organizer, in a statement confirming the cancellation of the face-to-face events initially planned for E3 2022, although the event usually takes place in the summer.
“Due to the continuing health risks surrounding Covid-19 and its potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees, E3 will not be held in person in 2022,” the organization explained.
In this way, it will be the third consecutive edition of the exhibition that is experiencing changes due to the pandemic, after its 2020 edition was canceled and celebrated last year also in digital only.
“We remain very excited about the future of E3 and look forward to announcing more details soon,” concluded the European Space Agency about this year’s edition of the event.
