If you’re the kind of person who leaves web browser tabs open on your phone (you know who you are), you’ll probably have a sinking feeling when you close each tab and realize you just lost a link to a must-see site. You won’t have many panic moments in the future, at least. Techdows And android . line noticed the Canary channel version Chrome 100 for Android adds a Settings tab (“Close each tab modal dialog”) that asks for confirmation when you try to close all tabs at once.
Chrome on the desktop will allow you to close all tabs in a window by getting rid of that window, but in general it is difficult to accidentally clear your group of tabs. On Android, Close All Tabs is close enough to other tab options that you could accidentally hit it.
Canary versions are unstable, so you can wait for the beta or final version. It’s also unclear how long Google might integrate the flag into normal settings or enable it by default, provided the feature remains in future versions. It’s easy to see confirmation to make the cut, even though it’s one of those seemingly small features that can save you an embarrassing search through your browsing history.
