Can Tho (VNA) – Australia’s ambassador to Vietnam, Robin Moody, said her country is very concerned about climate change in Can Tho city in particular and the Mekong Delta in general, and has supported the implementation of several climate change projects in this region.

During an interview with the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) during a visit to the Mekong Delta, Ambassador Robin Modi indicated that since 2000 her country has invested about 650 million Australian dollars in many projects such as the Cao Lanh Bridge and My Thuan Bridge, such as in addition to many agricultural projects and climate change adaptation projects. She said many good results had been achieved.

According to the diplomat, the Australian side is currently focusing on projects that improve productivity and environmental resilience in the Mekong Delta. Specifically, Australia is helping to strengthen aquaculture linkages to improve productivity and profitability. This is an important project because it brings individual farmers into a collaborative environment, helping them maximize their productivity.
