KLM restores its network of flights to Latin America and the Caribbean

KLM announced that burials have resumed across Latin America and the Caribbean this summer and have reached 17 cities, already planning winter shows, including Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago) and Bridgetown (Barbados).

The company adjusts its network based on the dynamics of restrictions imposed by different governments.

The most important changes compared to 2019

  • In the summer of 2021, the Caribbean and South American network will have 17 locations: Aruba, Bogota, Bonaire, Curaino, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, San Pablo, Lima, Cartagena, Mexico City, Paramaribo, Liberia, Panama, Santa and Santa and Saint Morton and keto.
  • Starting in winter 2021, Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago) and Bridgetown (Barbados) will be introduced as new locations.
  • In 2021, San Jose (Costa Rica) and Liberia (Costa Rica) are included in the summer calendar. Previously, these places were served only in winter.
  • Havana (Cuba) and Fortaleza (Brazil) remain temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • During high season, 24 weekly flights depart to Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao. That number is much higher than it was in 2019, when they had 17 weekly flights.

Peter Elbers, President and CEO of KLM, said: “The good news is that our network in the Caribbean and South America is back to normal. We currently fly across almost the entire global network, with 60% capacity and 40% passengers. We do so in a safe and responsible manner, as long as You have Apex Diamond status for your medical care. The next steps are to increase capacity and welcome more passengers on board as soon as the situation allows.”
