The anticipation for star conductor Daniel Barenboim and the new production of Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro” has been great. So big that even bad weather can not affect the good mood on the red carpet.
Veronica Ferris was also happy that she was finally able to experience the culture again: “It’s really great after such a long time. I am very excited about this production.”
At the start of the season, Bebelplatz was transformed into one of the city’s largest concert venues. Opera director Matthias Schulz: “Culture is back. And we are back. It’s a wonderful moment for all of us.” After a year and a half of not having a single live show, this evening is something very special. “Without experience, opera is only worth half,” Schultz explained.
Already on Sunday Berliners can look forward to another open-air concert, when the State Opera Choir and Staatskapelle Berlin will turn the Bebelplatz into a concert hall again from 1pm.
