Google Maps is one of the most popular navigation applications in the world. Travelers around the world rely on it to travel to destinations they’ve never been to before, explore new places in their area, estimate travel time between work and home, and even search for places within the building. Needless to say, it is a very useful tool. Did you know that you can also make money with Google Maps?
First, a little bit about Google Maps Local Guides Point.
Google Maps awards points to users for making the navigation platform more useful and accurate. Google Maps awards points to people who describe their experience with reviews, share photos and videos, provide insights with answers, answer questions about a place, update information with place modifications, add missing places, or verify information by checking out the facts. These points vary with contribution. For example, writing a review earns you 10 points while editing details about a place only gives you 5 points.
Map contribution | Points earned |
---|---|
Review | 10 points for each comment |
Review over 200 characters | 10 bonus points for each comment |
evaluation | 1 point for each rating |
Photo | 5 points for each photo |
picture tags | 3 points for each card |
Video | 7 points for each video |
Answer | 1 point for each answer |
Reply to questions and answers | 3 points for each reply |
release | 5 points for each edit |
Place added | 15 points added for each place |
Route added | 15 points added per way |
Truth Check | 1 point for each verified fact |
The eligible list has been published | 10 points for each published list |
Description (in the list) | 5 points added for each description |
As these points grow, your level also increases. When a person collects 250 points, he gets a star. As these points continue to increase and the local guide exceeds many milestones such as 1500 points, 5000 points, 15,000 points and more, the level of the local guide continues to increase and so does the starting complexity.
level | points | badge |
---|---|---|
Level 1 | 0 points | no badge |
Level 2 | 15 points | no badge |
3 . level | 75 points | no badge |
level 4 | 250 points | star |
level 5 | 500 points | star |
Level 6 | 1500 points | star |
Level 7 | 5000 points | star |
Level 8 | 15,000 points | star |
Level 9 | 50,000 points | star |
Level 10 | 100,000 points | star |
But these points are not useful in the real world at all.
Meaning, you cannot exchange these points for money in the real world. You also cannot redeem them for points on the Google Play Store. It is simply said, other than bragging rights (if any), these contributions do nothing.
But is there another way?
Although there is no direct way to make money from Google Maps, there are two side jobs (sort of) that will help you make money from Google Maps.
The first is a map analyzer. Map Analyzer Reduce the relevance and accuracy of the information in the map by doing an online search and referring to the instructions given to you. Lionbridge is a company that works with companies like Google to ensure that maps, search results, and other information about the Internet are accurate and up and running. The job is flexible and pays $10 (approximately 756 rupees) to $16 (1,211 rupees) per hour.
The second way is to become an online marketing consultant. An online marketing consultant uses search engine optimization, ads, and user-generated content to attract more customers to small businesses. You can help small businesses gain attention online and get more customers. Or you can improve their online presence so that they get more clients. However, you need some marketing knowledge and web development skills for the same.
