Juanes received the International Peace Prize

He has been recognized for his dedication to youth empowerment and peace in his native Colombia through the Mi Sangre Foundation.

Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes has been honored with the International Peace Prize awarded by PeaceTech Lab (PTL), a non-profit organization founded by the United States Institute of Peace.

The International Peace Awards (IPH) were presented in a virtual ceremony, honoring the most prominent world leaders and agents of change who make philanthropy and humanitarian service a feature of their lives, for the advancement of humanity and the planet.

Juanes has been recognized for his dedication to youth empowerment and peace in his native Colombia through the Fundación Mi Sangre.

Other personalities have also been honored by this year’s International Peace Awards, including: director and social activist Forest Whitaker. MasterCard President, Ajay Banga; Former Vice President of Innovation and Technology at IBM, Nicholas Donofrio.

“Humans of New York” author Brandon Stanton; Aboriginal activist and ecologist Tokata Iron Eyes; and President and CEO of Advanced Micro Devices, Dr. Lisa Su.

The honor was presented by the 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton. Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Tawakkol Karman; Co-Father of the Internet and International Peace 2021, Vint Cerf; And by Misty Copeland, principal dancer at the American Ballet Theatre.
