New Ethylene Oxide Problems: Afsca recalls several Nestlé products

theThe company said that Froneri, in agreement with the Federal Food Chain Safety Agency (Afsca), is withdrawing from the sale of several Nestlé-branded tree trunks and returning them to consumers due to the extremely high content of ethylene oxide residues. In a statement on Wednesday. Ethylene oxide has been a plant protection product at the center of various food product recalls for several weeks.

These are Smart Chocolate Chalets (Batch number PL9309), Vanilla smartie bûchettes (Batch numbers PL9309 and PL9310), Chocolate Christmas Chalets (Batch number DA0282, DA0283 and DA0287) as well as Strawberry Christmas Cottage Yule Logs (Batch number DA9317).

These products were marketed in Intermarché supermarkets between December 13, 2019 and August 10, 2021.

Froneri asks its customers not to consume these products and to return them to the point of sale, where they will be reimbursed.
