Zapping Autonews Green Driving on LPG: What are the advantages for individuals?

The Electric Fairy is kind of misleading between theory and reality at times, but on paper it always ends up outpacing the heat when it comes to raw performance. Without talking about autonomy, the new Rimac Never is undoubtedly the fastest “green” car on the planet. Four electric motors allow the new Croatian supercar to develop 1,914 hp of torque to move mountains, peaking at 2,360 Nm. These stratospheric values allow the Nevera to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than two seconds (1.85 to be exact) before reaching a theoretical top speed of 412 km/h. In that respect, it still runs less than Bugatti’s more efficient straight-line car, the Chiron Super Sport 300+ and its promised top speed of 440 km/h (customer version).

Mate Rimac, CEO and Founder of Rimac Automobili, speaks of the new Nevera as a real breakthrough: “This is it. This is the car I was thinking of when I embarked on this ‘impossible’ journey ten years ago. All our hard work resulted in the production of the Nevera. A record-breaking supercar, this car was born to push the boundaries and push the boundaries, setting a new standard for high-performance cars. […] When we first revealed the Rimac C_Two, we set some very high goals. Nothing else can match our car’s advanced electric powertrain or even its superior performance. But for us, this was just the starting point.” A letter says a lot about the claims of this exceptional car that propels itself to a speed of 300 km / h from a complete stop in just 9.3 seconds.

A massive Li-ion battery consisting of 6,960 cells allows the Rimac Nevera to offer an impressive range of 550 km, and in a WLTP cycle, please! In “sports” driving, the promised autonomy is unlikely to remain high, but perhaps we will never have the opportunity to check directly. The package’s total capacity is set to 120 kWh to allow feeding the four powerful motors. The shape of the battery is designed to perfectly fit the carbon fiber monocoque. The charging power supported by the latter reaches an impressive value of 500 kW! Unfortunately, no public terminal is yet capable of delivering this power. The Porsche Taycan supports up to 270 kW in load for comparison, thanks to its 800-volt system.

The simple, luxurious and high-tech interior consists of two deep bucket seats facing three high-resolution screens, one of which faces the passenger. Nevera passengers will be able to count on 12 ultrasonic sensors, 13 cameras, 6 radars, and the latest NVIDIA Pegasus operating system to be completely safe on board. The Rimac driving instructor adds an extra immersive driving experience. This system provides clear, accurate, real-time audio and visual guidance on selected racetracks. It allows pilots to master their lanes, braking points and acceleration. An innovation that will remain reserved for the wealthy elite, because Nevera’s offering at €2 million each for only 150 copies is planned in total.
